At STARS Lab, we push the boundaries of material science to drive innovation in aerospace, space exploration, energy, and defense applications. Our focus is on uncovering fundamental mechanisms that dictate material evolution and behavior by optimizing processing-structure-property relationships to ensure reliability under extreme conditions.
We utilize novel, high-throughput experimental techniques to study how materials respond to extreme temperatures, pressures, shocks, and strain rates to name a few. By collaborating with industry leaders, government agencies, and academic institutions, we develop cutting-edge solutions that enable materials for next-generation spacecraft, in-space manufacturing, and high-performance structures built to withstand the harshest environments.
